Wrist pins
The high injection and combustion pressures of modern diesel and racing engines generate very high surface pressures between the wrist pin and the small connecting rod eye. This can bring the bronze bushing, normally used as wrist-pin bearing, to its deformation limit.

Coating the wrist pin with BALINIT® replaces the sliding function of the bushing and renders it redundant. In addition, it permits a lighter, stiffer connecting rod design. Furthermore, BALINIT® effectively prevents material deposits in the bore of the aluminium piston.
